about

Heron, the final single taken from the record is a delicate and beguiling piece, lifted by the effortlessly beautiful words and voice of Miryam Solomon. It meanders through haunting strings and stripped back percussion until bass joins the latin influenced rhythms and moves it into folk-jazz territories.

With Miryam’s own EP, Romance, recently receiving much love and praise internationally and support on NTS Radio, Resonance FM, BBC Radio 1 Xtra and BBC Radio 6 Music, it is a very timely collaboration.

Previous Scrimshire album Listeners, released in 2019, was Album of the Day at BBC 6 Music featuring collaborations with Emma-Jean Thackray, Madison McFerrin, Georgia Anne Muldrow and Ego Ella May. It won support from Mary Anne Hobbs, Gilles Peterson, Tom Ravenscroft and Huey Morgan alongside an interview and plays from Jamie Cullum on BBC Radio 2.

His 2020 release Believers Vol. 1, including work with Omar, Penya and K.O.G. landed him in several “Best Of” lists as well as a playlist position on French national radio.

Nothing Feels Like Everything is out now on Albert’s Favourites.
